But feminists still aren’t going to say SHIT about Islam, are you?

Hey…it’s me the person who wrote the original tweets, a Muslim feminist as it so happens. Please don’t attempt to use CULTURAL examples of stigma surrounding divorce in order to push your Islamophobia. These particular tweets also included Catholic, Christian, Jewish women of my culture. Not to mention that this set of tweets also resonated with women of many other cultures and religions. Patriarchy and its opression is global….and not exclusive to the Muslim world. Not to mention that divorce is very much allowed in Islam and that the stigma around Muslim women does not exist in Islamic text. The issue here is cultural aspects of the way we handle and stigmatize divorce.

My mothers catholic and right now we’re in the process of trying to find her a job so she can divorce my shitty father, also Catholic.
It’s not really the religion that’s the problem it’s the culture, in our case balkan culture.

Sending you and your mama love and luck.

This makes me so, so sad. I’m so sorry that so many people fall into terrible marriages, and that long-lasting marriages are glorified for all the wrong way reasons. I’m glad that many abused and tormented spouses can find a way out in divorce.
Here’s the thing, though - we really shouldn’t celebrate higher divorce rates. The largest problem here isn’t that divorce is stigmatized, it’s that so many marriages suck, whether there’s abuse or cheating or any number of other relational issues. That’s the problem we should really be trying to fix. Our end goal here should be to lessen the number of abusive marriages and to encourage healthy, happy, mutually supportive relationships.

My first published RPG coming soon

just-tabletop-things:

There’s a game I’ve been working on for over a year and it’s almost finished. The game is called Illuminati Confirmed. The players are henchmen for the Illuminati who try to pull off an elaborate conspiracy. I’m having some people do the final edits and layout. After that I’m going to publish it on DriveThruRPG. Stay tuned, it’s going to be great!

Forget And Not Slow Down - Relient K

Cause I could spend my life just trying to sift through
What I could’ve done better but what good do what ifs do

I Would Do Anything for You - Foster the People

I’ll give it all into your hands,
Do what you will with me

Bookends - Simon & Garfunkel

What a time it was, it was
A time of innocence
A time of confidences

Holiday - Future Of Forestry

You drink it in to soothe your soul
The tide could turn
And the dice could roll

Flawless - The Neighbourhood

The only flaw – you are flawless
But I just can’t wait for love to destroy us

Gravity - Sara Bareilles

Something always brings me back to you
It never takes too long
No matter what I say or do

Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves) - The Wombats

I wear a suitcase
Under each one of my eyes

Just for Now - Imogen Heap

If just for a little while
Tears stop right here
I know we’ve all had a bumpy ride
I’m secretly on your side

Trapdoor - Twenty One Pilots

He thinks that faith might be dead
Nothing kills a man faster than his own head

Obedear - Purity Ring

I came down over the sleepy mountains where our
Wide toes plunged into the weeping shale to tear our
Skin up off from the bottom leaves our ankles bare
